Aldersgate and Carolina Farm Trust are proud to collaborate on a major agricultural and cultural initiative that will continue the Aldersgate-led transformation of Charlotte’s east side. Introducing the Urban Farm at Aldersgate – a mission to nourish, educate and inspire our community, while continuing to foster intergenerational, multicultural connectivity.

Spanning 6.7 acres, the Urban Farm at Aldersgate will serve as a food source – and learning lab – for the East Side community and beyond. Both EBT and SNAP will be accepted, ensuring the working farm is truly a resource for all.

Aldersgate is a non-profit Life Plan Community that’s redefining the present and the future of senior living in Charlotte, NC. Stunning in natural beauty, their 231-acre wooded campus is surrounded by eclectic neighborhoods, restaurants and culture.

The Aldersgate community offers a wide variety of living options, including standalone cottages, brand new apartments and villas. Amenities include nature trails, lake, dog park, swimming pool, wood shop, six dining venues and a variety of wellness and educational opportunities.

There are several Little Free Libraries located throughout the Windsor Park neighborhood. While most do hold books, depending on the time of year these 'Little Free' stations will trade their books for pantry staples and school supplies.

Windsor Park Elementary School is a quaint, neighborhood school, located in the historic Windsor Park Community, which was built on the Old Hezekiah Alexander Farm around 1960.

​

Windsor Park is home to a dedicated and caring staff that works hard to ensure that every child reaches full potential.  Students at Windsor Park receive instruction from highly qualified and certified teachers, and instructional assistants with various levels of experience.  A number of the instructional staff have master’s degrees in education or are working toward them.

While not technically inside the bounds of Windsor Park, the Kilborne District Park is neighborhood favorite among Windsor Park residents.

​

Kilborne Park is a 49-acre urban park situated at 2600 Kilborne Drive, just across the street from the Kilborne entrances to Windsor Park. The park contains a disc golf course, multi-purpose sports field, a softball field, a playground, tennis courts, picnic facilities with shelter, and several trails.
